Ang Kwento Nating Dalawa.
At first glimpse of the title, I immediately thought it was your typical love story movie. As the movie progressed, I added tragic to it. The story has Sam (Nicco Manalo) and Isa (Emmanuelle Vera) as a couple who seems to be in some sort of M.U. (mutual understanding or malabong usapan? your call. haha)
As the story unfolds for the first half, I developed a bit of irritation towards Isa because she seemed liked she wasn't sure of what her and Sam has. I thought maybe she wasn't really serious about Sam. It was as if she was into it half-heartedly. Then I noticed something. I felt like something crucial was missing. All throughout the movie there was this sense of incompleteness, how things don't match up when you try to delve and analyze their situation. But as the last scene plays, everything just clicked and fell into place. My anger towards Isa disappeared. And I was left with nothing to say.
The movie is really interesting, though a bit dragging that I ended up half-dozing off to one of those scenes. (haha sorry) The director decided to use the style of longer, uninterrupted takes for most of the scenes. I guess it was a good way to make the audience feel more connected to the story. How close to reality the story can be.
I applaud the movie for being very honest with it's story and tells things like it is. It wasn't afraid to gamble the whole story and leave it all up to the ending. Which isn't something you really would have thought of, so it makes up for me. :)
Overall, this is a movie that is sure to somehow surprise you in the end. I rate it 4/5.
