Xocolat.

So this post is about a month late, I apologize for being a lazy blogger. According to Zomato, this restaurant/cafe is known for being a haven for chocolate lovers because it has an extensive list of what can be done with chocolate.

Well, the team + 1 went to this cafe/restaurant in Katipunan one time after we jogged around the office. Being a guy, my fellow jogger was hungry after we ran for an hour. Some of our team mates were still there and wanted to eat as well, so we decided to go out. One of my office mate suggested to try here, she told us to look up the place and saw that it had a pretty interesting menu. They have pastas and rice dishes and sandwiches just like most Italian cafes but what makes it different is that they include chocolate to some, or maybe most, of it. Yes, CHOCOLATE. Shavings of it. Or sauce. Or dipped into it. You get the idea.

inside the room, couldn't resist taking a picture haha
On the outside, it looked like a house with a terrace for people to hang out. We got the seats in a room in the upper part of the cafe, I think it was the best seats because it was a bit private; we were secluded compared to the other places in the cafe. As you can see from the pictures, the place was really dainty with all the decorations. I loved the zigzag wall in one side and the solid yellow on the other. The room was in different colors and lines, but it somehow managed to merge together and create a really cute feel to it. Although there was a creepy side along the hallway to the bathroom with all the vintage porcelain dolls displayed, but maybe thats just me. haha

Now for the food!

I got really curious with their menu and had quite a time to think on what I should order. They all sound so good, I wanted to try almost all the dishes! Specially the ones with chocolates. But then I wanted something light too, so you can just imagine the decision I had to make. Plus the drinks they have all sound really delicious as well that I was tempted to order two. haha After a serious deliberation amongst my selves (lol) I ended up ordering Xocolat Chicken Pasta (which is their best seller) and White Haze for the drink. Mind you, this was not like other restaurants where the waiters take your order. You actually have to go to the counter to order your food. (It didn't really make any deal to me, though. Just thought I'd let you know.)
White Haze

Xocolat Chiken Pasta - yes it has chocolate shavings!!!
It took a long while for our orders to get completed, my food was served either second or third among all of us so the pasta had gone cold the moment we were ready to devour our meals. :( As for the taste, I learned that cold pasta is not appetizing. haha The garlic bread was cold and hard I think it was the culprit for my missing bracket. lol The chicken with chocolate tastes as it is; a chicken breast with chocolate shaving coverings. Oh, and I think the dish had a creamy base. There wasn't too much chocolate to overpower the pasta dish but it had a sweet side to it so it was definitely interesting.
To be honest, I liked the drink more, my White Haze. it was served first and it had one Russian tea cake which was perfect when dipped into the drink. I love the hazelnut-infused white chocolate flavor it has, it was definitely soothing for me. I think its perfect for those stay-inside-wear-a-sweater-rainy kind of days. :)

Overall, I enjoyed eating here with my office mates. I would love to try their other dishes as well, but I do hope their service time could improve. I would definitely recommend this for those who love chocolate because well, CHOCOLATES. haha

Resto rating: 3.5/5
